I don't really have anything to say. Just.. I'm back online with DSL. Annnd. That's about it. The whole time I was gone, I did jack-shit. I was a geek without the net. Really pathetic, really.
Still waiting on Dept. of Corrections to get back to me about prison guard job. That's something. Anywho.
I'll post something more involved, later.

In Nashville, staying with sister and brother-in-law. Free food, free internet, free bed. Just like being at Mom's. Mwhahaha.
Then comes the negatives. I don't have a vehicle at all to get around in, I don't know anyone, kind of an ackward positioning in Nashville, annnnd.. I need to be back in Metropolis I believe, on Nov. 14. Oh, and I don't have my cell phone. Left it with my parents, since Verizon screwed us all over. So they have it as a temporary phone. ( Meaning don't call me, twits. )
Law Corrections finally got back to me about a job interview ( Been literally like, 8 weeks. ) So hopefully that will pan out great.
So yeah. Anyone in the Nashville area should visit me. And entertain me. Please. XD

Verizon is so fucked up.
We recently got VoIP for our phone, and were running it over Verizon DSL, rather than paying the insane pricing for phone service through Verizon. ( Was like, 60 bucks for basic phone services compared to 12 bucks a month VoIP. )
So Verizon, tries to give this high load of crap about not being able to cancel the phone service without turning off and restarting the DSL service. A process which takes generally 30 days. Yes. 30 fucking days. That alone sounds fishy enough.
So yeah, we were pissed. We decide we're going to cancel with them and go with someone else, due to such nonsense. Problems don't end here, naturally. We contact a local provider ( and as so many of them around here, they run through Verizon as a third-party. ) and they inform us that they couldn't qualify us for DSL in my area. Though we've had DSL for like, 6 years, and Verizon service for nearly 10. Finding that baffling, they recommend we call Verizon and tell them to 'requalify' the area. Something Verizon is supposed to do, upon request.
So we call, and get ahold of someone that actually knows something about a computer other than 'read these instructions off from the card. If that doesn't help, call supervisor". Come to find out, our DSL with Verizon was ALREADY set up and handled for VoIP and didn't need a DSL restart, etc. It had all be done when we forwarded our same phone number to the VoIP network. So yeah. Because of miscommunication and ignorance, Verizon caused us to disconnect from them entirely. Though we didn't even fucking have to.
So they can expect an earful of it when we reconnect, and I damn well get at least 3 months free for this insane bullshit.
I do have PeoplePC and Juno backup, so can be connected through the "Up to 15 days to reconnect" nonsense. ( Should be less then that, but who knows. )
Hell, check this. With Juno, you can have 10 hours a month, for free. Doesn't sound like much, but it is for free! Every month, 10 hours, no contract, no payments, etc. 10 hours each month, forever. Sounds like a VERY good back-up plan for the computer, indeed.

So like.. No links this time around, I'm going to discuss things I am doing/been doing.
Top of the list. Finished my sister's wedding, as mentioned in an earlier post. And get a laugh out of my mother going to be with her during the honeymoon. Kinky huh? ( She's helping them to move from Chattanooga to Nashville. )
Next on the list. My brother-in-law helped me set up a dual-boot on my computer. Kubuntu Linux and Microsoft Windows XP. Been a very fun experience so far. And by fun, I mean hair pulling and facedesks all around. Going to take me a brisk while to get used to and learn how to use Linux. Not to mention, figure out how installing it is causing my processor to work at 100% constantly, while in Windows. Not sure what that is about.
So yeah. That's the highlights lately. Other than my roastbeefandswisssandwiches. The leftover food from the wedding = many meals for Cain to indulge himself upon. Squee!
Oh, oh. Brings up point. I ran into a friend while buying bread on Sunday, to use with all the lunchmeats left over from wedding. Thought she was still working at McDonald's but seems she got tired of that ( Can't blame her. McDonald's drama here, is insane. ) and now works at Family Dollar. I need to see more of my friends more often. I need a car.
Buy me a car. Anyone. I'll use it, I promise.

Found this hilarious flick on my Half-Life's Steam program. Random to find a live-action movie on there.. But anywho.. It is uber hilarous. About 3 guys in 1987, stuck in their car. The acting is actually quite good, and it just hilarious about the things they do.
A tad gruesome at times, but it is a Zombie flick. Duh. Common sense people.
